Municipal General Election

8/25/2023

The City of Guyton will hold a municipal general election on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. City electors will vote to fill one mayoral seat and two council seats. Those elected will serve a four-year term beginning January 1, 2024. This election will be conducted by the Effingham County Elections and Registration Office located at 284 GA Highway 119S, Springfield, Georgia 31329. This election shall be conducted pursuant to the Georgia Election Code O.C.G.A. § 21-2-1 et seq. and the Charter of the City of Guyton, GA.

Public Notice Regarding Storm Debris

6/16/2023

Guyton crews will begin picking up resident storm tree debris for the impacted areas beginning Tuesday June 20th. Pick up is limited to tree debris only and excludes all trash. Storm debris must be moved to the edge of the road and placed in piles to be picked up. Small debris will need to be placed in paper bags. Large tree debris will need to be cut into sections no longer than 6 feet. Items must be placed by the road edge by the designated times below to be included in the clean up route. Debris should not be placed under power lines and should be in an area free from obstructions such as mailboxes, phone boxes, etc . Clean up activities will take several days for each area based on weather conditions and debris volume. We will continue to provide updates throughout next week. Routine dry trash routes will be postponed until completion of storm debris clean up.
